The UPS truck pulled up to my door and rang the bell, and unceremoniously plopped it on the doorstep; then was down the street before I could answer the bell. My new future treasure sat indignantly on the doormat shrouded in of very battered bubble envelope. When I freed it from the ravaged trappings I was most surprised an elegant paper cover surrounding pulp fiction pages. I was expecting an acid-free paper; I don’t know why I should it is a Harlequin after all. I had such high hopes, I must put aside for a few days so I can approach it with a neutral mind and a cup of tea.

You are too funny! That “pulp fiction” sloppy edge is deliberate. It’s called a deckle edge and it’s actually supposed to be cool. Hope you won’t judge the inside by that. Don’t forget to drink some tea when you read the book.Shona

OMG, I LOVE deckle edges! When I was a child, at least, only the most expensive, most literary books had them. I just got back from a three week trip out of the country – SO sorry, Shona, to be so out of the loop lately. I cannot express in words how very proud of you I am, proud to know you — you can bet I will get to work and sing praises of Teatime to the rooftops. I am just goosebump-happy right now and hope you can feel my hug over the miles.
